It all kicks off again this time next year – the 64th International DWV-Congress opens its doors at the International Congress Center Stuttgart from 10 - 12 April 2022, in parallel with the INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA.

Dear Sir or Madam, dear friends of the DWV-Congress,

We are already hard at work planning the content of the event together with our Scientific Advisory Committee, and we will be happy to see you again in spring 2022 to discuss the topic of “shaping change in the wine sector sustainably”.

A highly relevant topic in the wine sector at the moment, we believe!

“We’ve been dealing with the various aspects and measures which are relevant to sustainable production in the wine sector for a long time. This issue has recently become very important to our sector again – not just the impact of climate change and the extreme weather events which happen as a result of it such as heavy rain, dry spells or late frosts, the calls for a reduction in the use of pesticides and the growing scarcity of resources are also shifting people’s attention towards this issue. The discussions currently being held in politics and society about promoting organic production or changes to the way products are marketed are also forcing us to get to grips with issues regarding change and sustainability. Of course, we can’t overlook the economic and social aspects either, as well as looking at it from an ecological perspective”, says DWV-President Klaus Schneider.
“We want to consciously use this event to enter into dialogue with you and discuss the latest findings from science and the industry.”

An attractive event format is being planned, with a range of plenary sessions and smaller working groups made up of people from different countries which you can attend depending on your interests – either online or in person in Stuttgart.

Christian Schwörer, DWV-Secretary-General, adds: “After a year of the pandemic, we all know how quickly things can change in terms of being able to hold events and that flexibility is everything. We are happy to be able to work flexibly with our partners at the Landesmesse Stuttgart, and we are working hard to create a hybrid congress, which means that participants will be able to react to the latest circumstances at relatively short notice. We are pleased about this latest development in the long history of the DWV-Congress.”

Further information about the 64th International-DWV Congress will shortly be available here.

Please make a note in your diary for 10-12 April 2022 in Stuttgart – we look forward to seeing you!
